在市长办公室，麦克丹尼尔斯市长对还没有处理掉总统感到很失望，这时布莱特警官告诉她有一群孩子失踪了。他猜想一定是被总统吃了，听到这话，特威克太太哭了起来。麦克丹尼尔斯市长很生气，因为他们只是在向她汇报，却没有找到总统。布莱特警官向她保证，他们已经设置了一个“福克斯陷阱”，快要捕获总统了。
在森林里，加里森总统跳出来，吃掉了一只老鼠。他听到一声巨响，就转过身去察看骚动。他看到了布莱特设下的“福克斯陷阱”，于是决定和他们谈谈。然后鲍勃从灌木丛中出来，警告他这是一个陷阱，加里森总统躲开了，并感谢了他。
孩子们继续寻找艾克，她们停了一会儿换了音乐。一路上，他们看到了摧毁卡特曼电子设备的小屋。凯尔在小屋里寻找艾克。海蒂记得这是卡特曼的电子设备被销毁的地方，那时他还很友善。他们就又开始了争吵。凯尔没有找到艾克，走出小屋。克雷格提出，也许艾克甚至没有费心寻找总统。凯尔解释说，加拿大人非常忠诚于他们的国家。这时艾克穿着加拿大骑警的制服，骑着一只纽芬兰犬，寻找着总统。
大人们正在森林里寻找总统，金博告诉兰迪他们找到了总统。一个露营地传来了怪异的低语。兰迪自愿前往搜寻营地，布莱特警官警告他，总统一直在吃动物，像怪物一样活着。他必须对自己即将看到的有心理准备。兰迪搜寻着帐篷，发现了政确校长和女强人发生了性关系。兰迪呕吐了，并告诉了搜索队。政确校长和女强人出来了，大人们对此反应强烈，都开始呕吐。
孩子们穿过树林，凯尔找到了艾克的一副玩具望远镜。海蒂认出了这个地方，回忆起卡特曼带她来这里送死。她和卡特曼争论，然后她产生了幻觉，看到了过去的自己。加里森总统突然出现，说自己脱水，快要饿死了。他开始走向他们，但随后被艾克设置的陷阱抓住。
在帕克县社区中心，搜索队回来了。莎伦·马什问兰迪他们看到了什么。兰迪告诉她，政确校长和女强人在一起了。莎伦恶心得吐在了兰迪的脸上。然后他们听到号角响起，走到外面，看到艾克抓住了总统。他们很高兴，但鲍勃抢过布莱特警官的手枪，和他的家人一起来帮助总统，他说他们仍然支持总统，因为总统至少正在努力拯救圣诞节。
海蒂突然从鲍勃手中抢过枪，用枪指着卡特曼，说是他把自己变成了如今的样子。她突然意识到这是自己的错，因为自己一直以为自己就是一个受害者，便与卡特曼分手了。卡特曼拿起枪，威胁要自杀，但海蒂告诉他，这已经不管用了，也许他可以扮演受害者的角色，但她不能，然后走开了。一名妇女突然尖叫起来，人群转过身来，看到总统已经不见了。斯坦说他们不能消灭他，兰迪回答说只有怀特家能阻止他。

AV Club对“碎番茄”打出“B-”的评分并评论道：“令人惊讶的是，是“碎番茄”的分支剧情最终成为了这一集喜剧成分和戏剧效果的主要来源。 政确校长和副校长终于互相接纳了彼此的感情，而这让南方公园的所有成年人都感到非常厌恶。兰迪在寻找加里森时，发现他们在性交后，因为两个同事在#MeToo运动中相互吸引的事实立即呕吐了。他的呕吐引发了连锁反应，这些不间断的呕吐放大了上周我们对于办公室恋爱的集体偏执。”[1]
IGN对“碎番茄”打出“7.9”的评分并评论道：“在这个年代，《南方公园》一般在季末大结局的故事线上总是会进行一番挣扎，然后最终失败，这就是为什么“碎番茄”是让人喜闻乐见的惊喜。这一集并没有过多地将这一季许多的剧情线合并为一个整体，但与大多数情况相比，这一集在进行松散结构的收尾方面做得更好。 在某些方面，最后一集没有盖棺定论反而有利于引起更大的主题和话题幽默感。”[2]
