饥饿马文是一个来自埃塞俄比亚的瘦孩子，首次出现于“非洲来客”

背景

在他第一次出现在“非洲来客”中，马文不小心被送到了男孩们那里，男孩们把他收押起来，并试图教他美国人的生活方式。然而，他们最终被发现，并被迫送他回了埃塞俄比亚，但送了大量的突变火鸡给他的家人。

在他的第二次也是最近一次在“星际马文在太空”的主要露面中，马文控制了一艘宇宙飞船，他和孩子们曾用它去外太空旅行。在这一集的后面，马文带着所有其他埃塞俄比亚人来到了天堂星球Marklar。

马文在第100集《I'm a Little Country》的最后一集在人群中客串了一下。没有说明他是怎样回来的。尽管有人看到他旁边有一群Marklar，估计他还在他们身边。

语言

他并不会说英语，但是却学会了几句卡特曼的口头禅，比如"Sweet!" or "Yeah, I want the Cheesy Poofs!".。他也学会了说自己的名字（四人组给他的名字），在他的语言中，他的真名听起来像“(click)-(oh-in-uh)-ma'bin”——男孩们觉得这个很难发音，根据结尾将其缩短为“Marvin”。据问候他父母的政府探员说，他的姓是“(click)-(click)-derk”。

马文在他的祖国由于饥荒而严重营养不良，因此显得异常瘦弱。除了脏的腰布，他没有什么可穿的。
